Sionix perfects DAF with breakthrough technology.

Over the eight decades that DAF technology has been utilized, various improvements have been made. Sionix Corporation has perfected it creating a highly efficient DAF system that utilizes breakthrough technology.

Sionix systems are capable of removing more than 99.5% of particulate matter and biological organisms, at measurements down to 1 micron.

The systems provide an absolute barrier against contamination by bacterial and parasitic organisms, particularly Cryptosporidium (3 to 4 microns) and Giardia lamblia (5 to 7 microns).

Conventional slow sand filtration beds, used in many of the nation’s public water districts, are incapable of filtering out these parasites. The best treatment facilities are only able to remove particles larger than 3 to 4 microns. Sionix can remove down to 1 micron.

Minimal chemical filter aids, and greatly reduced Trihalomethanes (THM’s).

Sionix systems use minimal chemical filter aids. And because the DAF technology reduces turbidity (cloudiness) to extremely low levels, a high dosage of chlorine is not required, greatly reducing or eliminating disinfection byproducts like Trihalomethanes.

Installing a Sionix system, as a stand-alone or as a pre-filter, will help to bring treatment facilities into compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act.
