What makes a Sionix system superior to conventional methods?
Sionix systems remove more than 99.5% of particles in water, and can filter down to 1 micron.
Sionix systems provide an absolute barrier to bacterial and parasitic organisms, particularly Cryptosporidium (3 to 4 microns) and Giardia lamblia (5 to 7 microns). Conventional methods remove some particles, then attempt to disinfect with chemicals like chlorine. Cryptosporidium and Giardia lamblia are extremely resistant to chlorine. The use of chlorine increases the likelihood of Trihalomethanes (THM’s), dangerous byproducts linked to health hazards. Sionix requires few chemical filter aids, and eliminates or greatly reduces THM’s.
What is Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) technology?
Dissolved air flotation (DAF) has been used to treat water for more than 80 years, primarily in Europe. Some of the first systems installed in Scandinavia in the 1920s are still operating today.
Using ordinary air under pressure, the DAF method injects microscopic bubbles into the water being treated. The air bubbles bond with parasitic and organic matter in the water. They make the particles light, causing them float to the surface. They are then skimmed away.

No. The systems use ordinary air or oxygen.

Is the system easy to operate?
Yes. One person can operate numerous systems. The systems can even be operated remotely, using hardwired or wireless communications.
How do I monitor the water quality?
Sionix features SCADA hardware and Water Treatment Office Automation Software. These provide online real-time monitoring of water treatment, storage and distribution systems. They also automatically control and monitor the wet-chemistry, in-line sensors, ozone level, automatic self-cleaning filtration systems, and automatic filter-to-waste control programs.
Is the system easy to maintain?
Yes. The systems require less maintenance than conventional methods, and require less back-flushing.
